Woke up on the right side

(of Jen!) ;)

Skated out to inline practice and made it through about 38 of the 40 laps (20 x 2 with a break in between). Travis was averaging 48 a lap, I started at 50 and kept slowing down as we went on, Travis would do two pulls and then I would do one. Tried my best to keep up with Travis for most of it. Very very thirsty. Don't know if I was dehydrated or something to do the the cooler temperature (albiet windy), but my mouth and throat were dry and partched by the end of the workout.

10 lap reverse cooldown. Righthand Crosscuts were tough.

Went to Friday night skate and did and extra 20km around the city.

WHAT I ATE TODAY:
Pad Thai, banana, apple, 2 veggie dogs on flax bread, pickle, orange drink, gatorade, chicken/ham pita with all the fixin's, Strawberry Kiwi Fresh and Fruity with bubbles, xl drink, ice green tea, fruit drink.

Ice Cream

I got to BODY PUMP late and missed warmup again, and only had 10kg for the squats. There was a sub who was teaching for Bettina. Her cueing was a bit off and the mike was broken.

I upped my bicep track to 9kg, which I found sufficiently challenging but do-able for this particular release. Hopefully we will be doing this release long enough for me to get accustomed to the weight before switching it up.

Did 9kg for lunges as well since that was what was on my bar.

WHAT I ATE TODAY:
Flax Bagel with Cream Cheese, orange drink, 1/2 can of coke, chinese mushrooms and broccoli, hot and sour soup, tofu and spicy veggies, can of orange pop, singapore style noodles, cheesecake and brownie ice cream on a waffle cone.

Good Will HouseHunting

Today might very well be the day I become a grown-up. I now own a stacked condo townhome in the Yonge and Eg area.

Today I did half and hour of Yoga to calm me down from the Condo Stresses in the morning.

At practice today, the heat was still insane and thick. It felt like it should have been easy, but it heat and bodily fatigue were there even though I had a lighter workout. Camilo and Travis were not there today, so it was odd to not be chasing anyone. I did not have my Garmin so I have no idea what my lap times were, but we were focusing on technique today.

Jackie and I did 13 laps warmup at a very moderate pace for me. Then we did 2 laps sprint increasing every 200m from 60%-75%-90%-100% sprint at the end. Six times with three rest laps in between. The focus was on arm movement and getting a longer push with my leg all the way out by getting lower. I did three extra warmdown laps before Jen arrived to pick me up.

WHAT I ATE TODAY:
Apple, banana, Booster Juice with Warrior Boost, Pad Thai, Pomegranite and Mango Juice, Coke, meatballs, spring roll, watermelon, cheese and cracker, chocolate cake, strawberry custard tart.

Swimming through the Heat

We've got another Heat Wave upon us. Global Warming is scary.

Yesterdays double push excercises caused some ankle blisters. I'll have to grease up before practice tomorrow.

Pump felt okay today. I skated down to Bettina's McCaul class this evening, I missed the warmup. All the weights were standard amounts. Kept the lunges at 7kg to keep my legs rested for tomorrow. Bettina went back to some older tracks, I'll up the weights on biceps on Thursday.

Sharon's Flow class was immediately afterwards, but by then I felt pretty worn out. Maybe I haven't eaten enough for fuel?

WHAT I ATE TODAY:
Flax Bagel with light cream cheese, 1/2 Ham Subways with all the fixin's on honey oat bread, Tuna Fish Sandwhich on Flax bread with pickle and mayo, apple, orange drink.

Double Push

Regular Monday BODY COMBAT noon hour class at Manulife with Tanya. Felt pretty good. The slow kick track is definately getting easier for me.

At practice today I skated over really slowly, I really felt the continuous crossovers from yesterday. I only did about 12K today. I managed to keep up with Camilo and Travis for the first 5k or so averaging aroun 47s per lap and then I just died. I did manage to complete the drill

After that I did Double Push excercises with Leo, but I felt really tired and sloppy. I did a lap each of a one skate push and then we tried to do it with both and some cone drills. I think after a while I was just thinking too much about it.

WHAT I ATE TODAY:
Flax Bagel with light cream cheese, apple, Booster Juice with Wilderness Booster, Gazpatcho with hot sauce, Gatorade, Gyros Pita, Mango Fresh and Fruity with Bubbles.

Round and Round like a Record Baby!

I did my first RSO race today. It was pretty obvious how inexperienced I am at track skating. The 200m track meant constant crossovers, which are still not my strong suite at this point. I'm also pretty clueless about track etiquette in terms of pack skating.

It seemed I had more heart than smart today. Ended up doing a lion's share of the pulling on the 3k and 5k.

Overall it was a good learning experience. It helps me figure out what I need to work on and how I can be more strategic next time.

300m time trail:
56.52

3km:
5:56.13

5km:
10:25.60

WHAT I ATE TODAY:
Flax Bagel with cream cheese, apple, gatorade, ice tea, coca cola, fruit, chocolate cake, Ketchup Chips, Bean Salad, 2 Hamburgers with fixin's, Stawberry Pineapple frozen drink, Vegan soup, edamame soy beans, Corn cakes thingy, Squash and Apple with caramel orange peppercorn dip.
