Heavy Lifting

THURSDAY

Taper day! Not a great day for eating. We went to a pub after Vanessa's Mother's Funeral.

It looks like it's going to pour on Sunday for the Ottawa Inline Festival.

WHAT I ATE THURSDAY:
BBQ Pork Bao, Veggies and Dip, Beef Barley Soup, 4 potatoe skins with cheese and bacon, Chicken club sandwich, Sour Jolly Rancher Gummies, pack of Hershey's Kisses.


FRIDAY (TODAY)

Exhausted. Patrick's move took longer than anticipated and then we had to move some of my stuff. Definitely a very physical day, not sure how it will effect me on Sunday, particularly skating in the rain.

WHAT I ATE TODAY

BBQ Pork Bao, Banana, Rice Crepes, Gazpatcho with hot sauce. Booster Juice, Lick's Gobbler Burger, Fries, whip cream, cherry coke, fruit drink. Coke.

I am now a Condo Owner!

Today should have been a day when I was training the Fast Twitch Muscles briefly on the blades.

Too busy with all the house stuff. Hopefully I can hit the track on Friday at least for 20 min.

WHAT I ATE TODAY
Flax Bread with veggie salami and cheese, strawberry juice with bubbles, honey beef and onions, rice, chinese greens, fried spicy tofu, corn soup. 1/2 corn on the cob.

TAPERING!

Catching Up Once Again...

Things have been crazy as I prep to move! I wish I could have done the New York 100k on the weekend. Next year I guess.


SATURDAY
Carolyn and I decided to go out to Hamilton Beach Trail for one last long training run before the Ottawa Inline Festival. The wind was pretty insane, but I hooked up with a very good rec skater and managed to work together quite effectively. I didn't get in as hard a workout as I anticipated, but it was more fun to have someone to skate with. Even with the wind, with him I was able to get above 30km/h.

I ended up doing two laps clocking in at under 30k total distance. Average speed was 24km/h+ IIRC.

WHAT I ATE ON SATURDAY
Flax Bagel with light cream cheese, bread and oil, chicken parmagian and pasta with cheese, Risotto, couscous with spinich, portabello mushroom and grape tomatoes, red grapes, cookie ice cream with two blueberry Eggos.



SUNDAY
I did a very nice relaxing Yoga class in the morning at the Eaton Centre Goodlife.

Jen and I did about four quick climbs in the early part of the evening. 5'7, 5'.9 and a couple of 5'10.

WHAT I ATE ON SUNDAY
Apple, Banana, Flambe French Toast and Strawberries, Bagel with cheese, egg and bacon, fruit, potatoes, Sour Jolly Rancher gummies, Booster Juice, Chicken Satay Burrito.


MONDAY
I taught the noon hour Body Combat class at Manulife today. We did the crazy ass Mui Thai track with the flying jump knee.

Final Practice! It was just me and Camilo doing 12 laps x 3. i generally felt pretty good. It was windy, I managed to keep up with Camilo for the most part (even though he was wearing the baggiest clothing possible to slow him down).

I will really miss skating with the Camaleon Club. Camilo, Leo and Andres really brought me up to speed in the past season and a half. With Camilo heading off to train on ice for the 2010 Olympics, it will be a pleasure to one day say I knew him back in the day and he coached me.

WHAT I ATE ON MONDAY
Flax Bagel with Cream Cheese. Flax Bread with veggie salami and veggie cheese. Booster Juice.


TUESDAY
The beginning of my taper. Full rest day. I was nervous as hell. I signed the pile of documents and I pick up the keys tomorrow.

WHAT I ATE ON TUESDAY
Dim Sum, Can of Cherry/Vanilla Coke, Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Veggies, two ribs, Salad with Honey Djonn dressing. chocolate kisses.
