Comicon

Despite being physically tired from yesterday's practice, I managed to summon up some energy for today's Combat class at noon hour with Tanya at St Clair. My right ankle was bothering me again. Probably should have taken it easier on the shuffling and jump kicks.

WHAT I ATE TODAY
Flax Bagel with light cream cheese, Booster Juice with wilderness boost, 2 Lick's Homeburgers with all the Fixin's, banana, dried fruit strip, root beer, orange juice, chicken parmagiana, pasta with cheese and tomato sauce, ceasar salad.

Missed Yoga Today

I'm kind of regretting not going to Yoga at noon hour. I'm feeling a bit achy from yesterday's exertions.

Tonights TISC practice consisted of 4x25 laps with increasing speed every five laps and a three minute break in between. My pack managed to do 20-22 laps each time and actually hung on to the other pack quite a few times. Last lap we took it a bit easier to keep everyone in the pack, but I felt good today having people to skate with! I'm very happy to see Travis back after his injury at this winter's indoor practice. Having trained with him for the previous two years when we were being coached by Camilo and Leo, there is a familiar rythm you tend to fall into . We ended with 15x15 sprints and stretching, which was good. Hopefully we'll include that as a regular part of our workout. Morgan pointed out I really have to get my foot over the other foot in the crossovers, so I tried to focus on that for most of today's workout. I felt pretty positive about tonights practice.

The Barry Publow clinic was cancelled for this weekend, so I am planning on doing the Friday Night Skate and then the TBN Marathon out at Hamilton Beach on Saturday morning.

I've also decided to skip Cambridge this year, which will once again be Nationals. I will be joining Mike Lin and Richard "The Mayor" A for the Philly Freedom Skate instead. I am really looking forward to these "original" Philly Cheesesteaks that I have heard so much about. This will also be the first time that I am travelling to do some fun-skating instead of competing.

WHAT I ATE TODAY
Green Goodness Smoothie, Flax Bagel with Light Cream Cheese, Black Bean Gazpatcho with hot sauce, light chocolate ice cream sandwich, bbq pork egg bun. chocolate peanut butter cups, dried fruit strips, greek salad, orange juice, gyros on a pita.

We had a nice Boat Cruise tonight.

My kickboxing class was relatively small again today, I'm hoping it's because of the nice weather and the fact that they added the Cardio Salsa class afterwards. I'm keeping a small core of regulars though. It really is a different experience than teaching in the downtown clubs. I felt pretty good and had lot so energy despite how tired I felt at practice last night. My legs are still a bit sore around the road rash parts.

I did Pump at 1:00 today at St. Clair, missed the warmup. Light weights on the squat, no weights on the lunges to save my legs for tomorrow's practice. I haven't been doing weights consistently and I'm feeling it. I'm back to my regular "default" weights after increasing most of my weights across the board a few months ago. A bit dissappointed at "losing ground" like that.

I also went climbing with Dave L late this afternoon. Again quite a struggle on some of the climbs. I did two 5-10a and felt sufficiently challenged on those. Perhaps I should have warmed up more on easier climbs rather than starting with the 5-8. I just realized that I hate falling when I climb almost as much as I hate falling on inline skates.

WHAT I ATE TODAY
Flax Bagel with light garden cream cheese, banana, gazpatcho black bean soup from Carlo and Mulva's with hot sauce, grape tomatoes, green goodness smoothie, chocolate egg bun, curred beef egg bun, Booster Juice with Enery Boost, Lamb Burrito at New York Subway, Mango Juice, a pack of sour berry gummies.

Cold and Windy (sometimes Wet)

Yoga at noon hour was nice. Legs and back felt really tight. I really need to stretch more before and after a workout.

Cold today at practice, I don't feel like I warmed up the entire time. I am liking the structure of the practice and the drills we are doing. I'm the one getting dropped all the time, but I'll keep at it.

WHAT I ATE TODAY
Lucky Charms and Nature's Path Zen Cereal in 1% Omega 3 Milk, Spinich Salad with olives and grape tomatoes in Fig dressing, Black Bean Gazpatcho from Carlo and Mulva's, pickle,

TOUGH! (a play by George F Walker)

Spinning this morning at Mount Pleasant with Tanya. A bit sore and tired from yesterday's Becel Ride for Heart skate on the Gardiner. Tanya managed to coax some good energy out of the room and I ended up pushing a bit more than I thought I had in me.

Jen and I went climbing tonight and it really is true that you lose it if you don't use it. I did only five climbs, including a 5-10a that was a bit too easy and a pinchy 5-10b that kicked my ass with two falls. The Road Rash on my legs, palms and arms made me even more aware of how sloppy my technique was.

We discussed discontinuing our memberships since we have not done very much climbing at all in the past year to warrent our montly fees. You basically have to climb at least once a week in order to justify the membership. Plus the $$$ for locker rental. We ran into our good friend Dave Laird who was also getting back into it after some time off.

WHAT I ATE TODAY
Flax Bagel with light cream cheese, Lucky Charms and Nature's Path Zen Cereal in 1% Omega 3 Milk, apple, banana and yogurt. Gazpatcho with hot sauce and olives. Booster Juice with Warrior Boost. Spinich salad. Hot and Sour Soup, deep fried veggie spring rolls, asparagus in mushroom sauce with white rice, mango milkshake, thai spicy noodles with veggies and mushrooms, mango and sticky rice. Lemonade.

Becel Ride for Heart 2007

The rain held off and we had a fun day today at the Becel Ride for Heart Inline event. Nothing beats skating on the Gardiner every year. I would count this workout as a Long Slow Distance today. Felt pretty tired though and felt I wasn't doing very well in the technique department.

WHAT I ATE TODAY
Flax Bagel with light garder cream cheese, 2 apples, Green Goodness smoothie, 2 turkey sandwhiches, bowl of lucky charms and nature's path zen cereal in Omega 3 milk, low fat ice cream sandwich. Gazpatcho with hot sauce, spinish salad with olives and no fat california dressing, 2 peanut butter sandwiches on flax bread, frozen fruit popsicles.
