Rest Days Rawk

I'm debating whether or not to make this a rest day. I really want to get out and skate, but I have night school on Thursdays. I was thinking of indoor on Monday and Wednesday nights when I signed up for it and now I only get to skate on Tuesdays if the weather is good. I didn't skate on Tuesday this week because Jen had Opera tickets for us. Weather hasn't been too skate friendly outside this week. I really want to get going on some mileage on the trails to build the endurance base.

Debating whether I should go to Ottawa this weekend for the half. Jen can't go and the weather isn't looking too good right now.

WHAT I ATE TODAY
Yogurt and Banana, Granala and Nature's path Cereal in light soy milk, Chicken Schwarma, strawberry applesauce, Flax Bagel with light cream cheese, Asparagus and pickles, veggie chili soup,

Inline Season Begins

Although it doesn't feel like it because it's so cold outside.

I'm a bit dissappointed that I won't be able to go to TISC practice this week due to my night school and the opera tickets for tomorrow night. Hopefully I will be able to just get out and do some skating on the trails. There is the 1/2 marathon inline event this weekend in Ottawa, Run for Reach, but Jen can't make it and I'm not sure what the weather will be like. Hopefully I can catch a ride and it will be nice. It's supposed to warm up. Not sure if I'm ready for it since I've got no mileage under my belt just yet.

Still not 100% on how this season will shape up in terms of my training regimen and the races I'll attend.

Here's a tentative look...

April 15th: Run 4 Reach in Ottawa 21K (maybe? weather and logistics depending)
May 12th: Mount Forrest 10K (logistics need to work out)
May 19th: Provinciatl Championships in Harriston (I'm still not sure about this one)
June 3rd: Becel Ride for Heart
June 22-24: Eddy Matzger Clinic in Ottawa
July 1st: Canada Day Marathon in Cambridge
July 8th: National Championships (marathon) in Montreal
July 14th: Montreal 24 hr OR Napa Valley Marathon?
Sept 2nd: Ottawa Inline Festival
Sept 29th: New York 100K (still undecided)
Oct 20th: Montreal Defi

I would also like to do one of the Petit Train du Nord trips that Ottawa Inline takes every month.

Scarily enough, I have the full Flying Pig running Marathon on May 6th coming up real soon.

When you don't feel like Blogging

But you should anyhow.

Just to keep a record of what I'm doing and how I'm feeling.

I always feel guilty after a long weekend like this of overindulging. Parties, brunches, dinners, too much indulging, not enough excercise and eating chocolate. I think was was feeling pretty down about having done such a lousy class on Thursday and it kind of affected my mood on the weekend.

FRIDAY
I should have known that it would be extra crowded, particularly since they were on a schedule with special classes. I got there to find the only Pump class on Good Friday to be jam packed. So I went and stretched for a while and then did the spinning class that was afterwards. It was taught by Emily, and she's really good. I should try more of her spinning classes (I'd only ever done her Pump) if I get the opportunity depending on the weather for the next few weeks. I pushed myself harder than I usually push myself.

WHAT I ATE ON FRIDAY
2 Lick's Homeburgers with all the fixin's. Ice Tea. Popcorn. Chocolate Muffin, Asian style Strawberry Milkshake, no-name Sprite, Mushrooms and Broccoli, Beef Noodles, white rice, veggie Orange "beef".

SATURDAY
I was determined to get to Pump on time 10:30 at St Clair. Kept all the weights as usual, felt pretty good despite a week of not doing weights. Reffed Roller Derby in the evening and it was much faster than the previous week, so I was actually breaking a sweat this time as I skated around the outside.

WHAT I ATE ON SATURDAY
Bowl of Cereal with Soy Milk, Booster Juice, Mango Lassi, Butter Chicken, tandoori chicken, rice, lamb, beef, naan bread, chicken parmasian, pasta, potatoe skins, chips, strawberries and pineapple, chocolate/hazelnut, labatt ice vodka drink, green apple slushie,

SUNDAY
Didn't sleep too much or well staying at Jen's parents, also stayed out too late at Aaron's going away party. This was a rest day where I just ate and ate and ate some more. Easter Brunch and Easter Dinner and snacks at the movies.

WHAT I ATE ON SUNDAY
Quiche with ham, potatoes, salad, chocolate cake, lemon cake, pineapple, melon, scrambled tofu, popcorn, blue and red Icee, mango Jugo Juice, gummy bears, chocolate, potatoes, lamb, lemon mirangue pie, beans, carrots.

MONDAY
I was only going to do spinning, but I felt I needed to burn off some of the huge calories I consumed on the weekend, so I did most of a Pump Class (missed the warmup and squats, but glad because I had tired legs). Felt really tired. Should have eaten something before. I ended up in the last ten minues of Emily's spinning class and then did the class following, which was taught by Althea. Again a very inspiring spinning teacher, I will have to do more of her classes. It's nice to switch up your routine. I found I pushed myself in spinning more than I usually do. Very tired.

WHAT I ATE ON MONDAY
Asparagus, pickle, strawberry tomatoes, Booster Juice with warrior boost, 2 fruit strips, Nature's Path and Granola Cereal in Soy Milk, 2 Lick's Homeburger's with all the fixin's.
