The Day After The Day After 24
Fatigue and Soreness hit me today. I'm not sure why the delayed reaction. Probably having to teach Kickboxing yesterday when I should have been resting. I think I'll skip TISC practice tonight in anticipation of my Body Combat release tomorrow morning.
Yoga with Frances at Mount Pleasant noon hour was slightly more intense than usual. The Balance Tree Pose was challenging with tired legs, so I decided to keep my toe on the ground, but still I had balance issues! We also did side leg lifts lying down, which was much more intense than I was used to in this class, particularly after skating an event like the Montreal 24 Hour Relay.
I was thinking that stretching, core conditioning and balance are probably essential parts of crosstraining for Yoga that I should focus on. It was interesting how Eddy Metzger was talking about how Yoga really helps his training during the Ottawa weekend about a month ago. I'm sure the extra flexibility and core-strength is handy when you really need to get down low and push long.
Why is my shoulder, knee, and now elbow not healing? I've been off of weights and no climbing for about a month now. I'm really feeling old. Perhaps I should go to a sports clinic and have it looked at. It doesn't really seem like anything major and I can get by everyday without even thinking about it, it's just a certain movements that I need to lift weights or do a certain climbing movement that I can't do. Skating and Kickboxing seem fine, although certain Yoga movements I can't do either.
WHAT I ATE TODAY
Reese Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies. Gazpatcho soup with olives and Hot sauce. banana. strawberries and banana in yogurt (omega 3), 2 tuna fish sandwich on flax bread with light miracle whip and pickles. Peach/Mango Soy Smoothie. Bowl of Nature's Path rebound and zen and Vector Cereal in Soy Milk.

I too am having a delayed fatigue reaction. I got home feeling fine and played tennis Monday night. But playing tennis on Tuesday, my legs had nothing.
I expect this delayed reaction with weight training but this has come as a bit of a surprise.
