Sunday Long Weekend
Went back and did Body Pump yesterday for the first time in probably over a month. The shoulder is still not healed and I kept the weights light for Clean and Press, and the shoulder tracks. I found it quite tough, no wonder since it's the longest I've gone without doing weights. I'll have to make sure that I start getting in my weights even with the shoulder problems, I think it really makes a difference in performance.
I don't know if the rest day did me much good, maybe I should have done Yoga on Friday or light spinning. I went to the Lawrence Park Track just to do some laps and found that I could hardly move my legs properly. Might have been the heat or the fact that I just did weights and some substantial squats.
A nutritional disaster yesterday. The other thing that I did wrong was not eat as soon as I got up. The only fuel I had was a pear before doing my workout. Then I went and had burger king because I was in such a rush to meet Jen for Bourne Ultimatum. Dinner consisted of wine, cheese and crackers with the Body Combat team at Daniel's.
Very quiet today so far.
Planning nothing but Yoga in anticipation of being up at the crack of dawn to skate Joel's 50km route around his place in Burlington which will include hills!
10km race tomorrow in Missauga. Tentative plan is to do both the Fitness and Men's race in support of the event. We'll see how I am feeling after the 50km.
Yoga was good for me. Yvonne was subbing for Frances and sang a beautiful song to us during relaxation at the end. It's clear that the lack of weights did me in. I am really stiff and sore from not doing weights for so long and then suddenly shocking my body yesterday.
WHAT I ATE YESTERDAY
Pear. Burger King burger, fries and chocolate milk. Gummies. Crackers, melba toast and various cheeses. Wine.
WHAT I ATE TODAY
Frozen berry, mango/peach/pineapple, soy milk, orange juice, greens, eccinacea and vitimin D Smoothie. Gazpathco with hot sauce. Pickles. Whole wheat pasta with veggies in ragu and salsa.
